Spectrum School Spectrum School has served the Rockford area since 1967, offering a genuine alternative to traditional education. As a pioneer in the area of educational change, we are dedicated to staying current on, and employing, the cutting-edge instructional methods proven through research. At Spectrum, we believe all children are unique. We believe every child learns in a different way and every child has undiscovered gifts, talents, and potential. No matter what their background, the desire to learn is the common bond they share. Spectrum currently enrolls students from preschool through the eighth-grade level and through high school at our International Preparatory High School. Our 12 to 1 student to teacher ratio, multi-age classrooms, and the most sophisticated multiple intelligences learning program in the region, allows us to understand the needs and strengths of each child.
