Lycée
Français de Chicago
Lycée
Français de Chicago, founded in 1995, is located in one
of Chicago's most established residential neighborhoods along Lake
Michigan. It provides an ideal educational setting as well as easy
access for all our students.
The Lycée is a private, not-for-profit,
co-educational day school serving students from prekindergarten
through twelfth grade. Ours is a bilingual, bicultural learning
environment in which students follow the complete French National
Curriculum, which is directed by the French Ministry of Education.
The curriculum is supplemented by a strong program of English language
arts, American civics and American history. This intercultural curriculum
prepares students for the French Baccalaureate examination.
The school is listed on the French
Ministry of Education's official roster of French schools in foreign
countries. Because of our affiliation with France, the Lycée
is inspected regularly by the French Ministry of Education, which
ensures a consistently high caliber of teaching and adherence to
the French curriculum.
The Lycée makes its home
in the landmark Immaculate High School building, located at Irving
Park Road and Marine Drive. The building has been renovated with
great attention, allowing the structure's impressive "sense
of place" to emerge as an inspirational learning environment.
The Lycée occupies 57,000 square feet within the building,
including spacious, inviting classrooms, library, art room, gymnasium,
science and computer laboratories, lunchroom.
