The
Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School on Chicago’s
near north side is a fully accredited, independent, co-educational
Jewish day school with nearly 500 students in nursery through eighth
grade. Day School families represent a microcosm of Chicago’s
diverse Jewish community, spanning the continuum of practice and
belief. Students share a common experience in school and develop
a connection to universally respected values.
The Day School’s commitment to academic excellence
is evident throughout the school. Small classes and innovative teaching
methods create an ideal learning atmosphere. At each grade level,
enthusiastic and dedicated teachers use a thematic and experiential
approach, providing seamless transitions between diverse domains.
Beyond the classroom, students find many opportunities
for enrichment and enjoyment. In addition to a gymnasium, the Day
School campus now includes a 45,000 sq. ft. athletic field. Various
after-school programs begin in senior kindergarten. A “Kid’s
Klub” is run on-site by the Heller JCC and offers coverage
from 3:30 until 6:00p.m, Monday-Thursday. Separate extended day
options are offered for junior kindergarten students.
More than 80 faculty members partner with committed
parents and seasoned administrators, creating a vibrant, student-centered
learning community. Students graduate exceedingly well prepared
for high school and the world beyond. The Day School cultivates
confidence, problem-solving skills and leadership. Graduating eighth
graders have a solid foundation for high school, an intrinsic curiosity
